Just over the summit, you will find the Stowe Ski Area. elevation on the west slope of the state's highest peak, Mt. Mansfield State Forest, lying at about 2000 ft. The Underhill State Park is located within Vermont's 39,837-acre Mt. Plenty of recreational opportunities are available in nearby Towns. There are 6 key intersections clearly marked, among extensive, well-maintained trails. The property is essentially split into two halves by Fitzsimonds Road, the westerly parcel referred to as Mobbs Valley, the easterly as Mobbs Hill. One mile south of Jericho Center is the Mobbs Farm Property consisting of 260 acres of open and forested land, open for hiking, running, cross-country skiing, horseback riding, and mountain biking. Utilize 6 miles of trails (wonderful for hiking and cross-country skiing), a large pond, Browns River access (great for fishing), the Lauryn Ashley Stockdale Memorial Fields (9 acres of meadow available to schedule for athletics), and a beautiful post and beam pavilion offering respite and a lovely spot to reserve for special occasions. Mills Riverside Park is made of 216 public acres of open meadows and woods and offers stunning vistas of Mount Mansfield. There is one high school in Jericho, Mount Mansfield Union High School, which serves students from Jericho, Underhill, Richmond, Huntington, Bolton, Jonesville, and Westford. Students who grow up in Jericho will attend Jericho Elementary School or Underhill ID Elementary School from kindergarten through fourth grade, after which they attend Browns River Middle School, which teach grades five through eight. Jericho is located just 30 minutes southeast of Burlington making it an easy commute. The Riverside area has two general stores, two schools, the multi-use Mills Riverside Park, and Deborah Rawson Memorial Library. The Riverside Area also known as The Flats, is located along Route 15 and borders the neighboring town of Underhill. Jericho Center is made of a large Town Green, host to several annual events, and off of which you will find several historic buildings, and one of Vermont’s oldest continually running country stores, the Jericho Center Country Store. Jericho Corners is located off Route 15 and is home to The Old Red Mill and Museum, one of two historical mills of an original 8, that still stands along Browns River.
